DOCman 1.5 Stable is now available!
Congratulation, we all waiting for !!
at the same moment we have the launch of JoomDoc presented as DocMan 2 by Artio.
No relationship between these 2 products ?
take care
Artio's version is a copy of DOCman 1.4. They have removed our copyrights from the source code which is a clear violation of the GPL license. It's a bit the same like stealing code.
There have been other similar incidents in the Joomla community latetly, for example : http://brian.teeman.net/mister-men/inspired-cop...
On the staff website I'm working on I went ahead and created the category structure for the current year which went something like this:
Committees
College Council
Subcommittees
Budget and Fiscal Planning
2009-10
Agendas
Minutes
Plus a whole lot of other subcommittees. But the reason I bring it up is because the current category creation workflow is a bit slow and for example it's going to take quite a bit of time to add the 2010-11 Agendas/Minutes folders for all of the committees when the time comes (or even, to add in the folders for the copious amount of previous year Agendas/Minutes). Plus those ordering arrows act a little bonkers.
If, as a feature enhancement you find it in your small amount of free time (what with all of the Nooku goodness going around :-) you have some inspiration as to make creating categories simpler (some type of bulk copy/entry mode) it would probably assist a whole lot of users like myself :-).
Thank you for all you guys do regardless,
thanks for your great work. We are using DocMan to manage over 500 documents at ur B2B-Portal. It works great and we hope we can turn off the legacy mode with DocMan 1.5.
Bye
Steven
Thanks!
Now no more switching...
Thanks,
So I had to load and test JoomDoc also...
Was surprised that Artio only made a native version.
No THX to the developer of Docman, no equivalent copyright notice.
OK - uninstalled - decided not to use this product :-(
The community also takes care :-)
Regards and thanks for great work!
Being released stable version of Docman is the time?
Is there a way to take over all the entries from version 1.4? Let's test ist.
THX in advance
The release will be fully compatible with 1.4 and be a simple upgrade.
thanks guys for your effort!
keep on
